The Milwaukee Brewers acquired infielder Luis Urias and left-hander Eric Lauer from the San Diego Padres for outfielder Trent Grisham and right-hander Zach Davies in a swap of high-end prospects and veteran pitchers on Wednesday.

This wasn't the only move for the Padres on Wednesday. They also reached agreement on an expected four-year deal with left-handed reliever Drew Pomeranz, pending a physical, sources confirmed.

Right-hander Jharel Cotton, who returned at the Triple-A level for the Athletics after missing all of 2018 following Tommy John surgery, has been traded to the Cubs on Saturday in exchange for cash considerations.

The 27-year-old Cotton went 11-10 with a 4.95 ERA in 29 starts for the Athletics over the 2016 and '17 seasons. He had the procedure to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow prior to the 2018 season.

The Milwaukee Brewers have traded Chase Anderson to the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays sent prospect Chad Spanberger back in the deal.

Milwaukee cut $15 million off their payroll for next season by trading Anderson and declining a $7.5 million option on Eric Thames.

The Brewers had planned to decline Anderson's $8.5 million option, which would have made him eligible for salary arbitration. Toronto exercised the option after the trade.
